A LITTLE ABOUT ME
My name is Hannah Hill. I’m a wife, a mother to two little girls, and the heart behind Lamp and Hill. Life around here is full. Full of children, animals to care for, meals to make, and the quiet, unseen work of tending a home.
If anyone understands how the mundaneness of motherhood can wear you down and feel overwhelming at times, it’s me. I’m growing as a wife and mother every single day. Some days feel steady and peaceful. Others feel heavy and stretching. This space is where I share what I’m learning along the way, so we can grow as mothers and women of God, together.
Here, I write about Christian motherhood, homesteading, and simple, nourishing food. My recipes lean toward from-scratch cooking, but I also appreciate a quick and easy meal for those days that need a little extra grace.
More than anything, this blog is a reflection of my faith and the way it shapes how I live, serve my family, and care for my home. My hope is that Lamp and Hill feels like a quiet place to land. A reminder that a wholesome life doesn’t have to be perfect or rushed. Just faithful, intentional, and rooted in what matters most.
WHY LAMP AND HILL?
I chose the name Lamp and Hill because of what the lamp represents in scripture. Jesus says a lamp is not meant to be hidden, but placed on a hill to give light, and that image has stayed with me. I think often about the call to keep our lamps filled with oil, tending what God has given us in quiet, faithful ways. The lamp reminds me that any light in my life comes from Him, not from striving or proving. Hill ties the name to my own life and my own name, grounding this space in the everyday work of home, motherhood, and faith. Proverbs 31 speaks of a woman whose lamp does not go out at night, and that steady, unseen faithfulness is what I come back to again and again. This space is my way of keeping the light lit, right where God has placed me.
